And now, a few words about us for your reading pleasure!  We met on Match.com and if you ask Shannon, she’ll tell you that only one of us turned out to be crazy 😉  But thankfully it’s a good type of crazy!!  Long story short, we got married, had some babies including a little business we like to call Schaefer Photography.  Oh, and a dog!  Liza Jane.  She’s pretty awesome.

We started Schaefer Photography in 2015 to share our talents with others…whether that be individuals, couples, families or businesses. We want people to be able to look back on the photos we’ve taken and feel like they are experiencing their favorite moments for the very first time.

One of our passions is music and we love attending and photographing concerts. A few of our favorite artists are The Black Crowes, Adele, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis, Leon Bridges, Grace Potter, Susan Tedechi, The Killers and Chris Stapleton. Hopefully one day we’ll get to shoot an Adele show up close!

Our greatest love is our kids. Together, we enjoy documenting every moment of our children, Lillian and Teller.  They both have such fun personalities and Lillian is already the best big sister! There are so many special moments that happen every day and they are a hoot in front of the lens!

You can be sure that we will work hard to capture the most important moments in your life and all the little ones along the way.  We think you’ll agree that the smallest moments may in fact be the largest.

Scott studied Broadcast Journalism at the University of Missouri School of Journalism and started his career as a Photojournalist at KOMU 8 News in Columbia, Mo.  While working as a photojournalist there he earned the prestigious National Edward R. Murrow Award, the Society of Professional Journalism’s Sigma Delta Chi Award, the National Association of Broadcasters Service to America Award and 15 Mid-America EMMY® Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Scott has shot for NBCSports.com, ESPN, Variety, Fox Sports Midwest, Bloomberg News, and Entertainment Tonight among others. He’s proud to be able to share this journey with Shannon who helps make everything possible.

Shannon has always loved photography and studied under a photographer in her hometown before heading off to Murray State where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Finance.  She helped build Schaefer Photography from a hobby into a full time studio starting in 2015 by providing photography throughout mid-Missouri.  Shannon’s finance background keeps the business running smoothly and her talent shows through every image we produce with her skillful eye at styling and retouching.
